Join the digital 9th NRW Nano Conference

21-23 April 2021

The 9th NRW Nano Conference will be digital!

Due to the corona pandemic, the organisers have postponed the 9th NRW Nano Conference early to April 2021. In order to further increase the planning and health security of the guests and to prevent even hard-to-prepare travel, the conference will now take place completely in the digital space – and nearly all elements that make up the high quality of the conference will be retained.

Organised by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalisation and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the NMWP.NRW cluster and the Münster Economic Development Agency, the 9th NRW Nano-Conference sets the standard for the content of the event as usual very high and promises to be an extremely high-quality and varied event. In order to take account of the current situation and to offer the guests both the greatest possible security and the greatest possible benefit, it will now take place virtually. In order to simplify the content structure, the conference will be extended to three days, but only a maximum of two parallel sessions will be held at the same time. The accompanying exhibition will take place in virtual exhibition halls, in which the exhibitors will have almost no limits to their creativity due to the possibility of integrating multimedia content. The poster exhibition of the Young Academics will also benefit from digitalisation. Thus, in addition to the poster sessions, in which the young scientists can present their posters in video chats, short presentation videos for each poster will also be produced with the support of the organisers. In addition to personal exchange, virtual networking rooms will also give larger groups the opportunity to exchange ideas spontaneously via video chat.

Working from home is one thing, but holding Germany’s most important event in the field of nanotechnology and innovative materials as a digital conference is another. With a completely new concept, the 9th NRW Nano Conference will make it even easier for our international guests to participate, to network with stakeholders from North Rhine-Westphalia’s economic and scientific landscape and gain up-to-date insights into our excellent expertise.

Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Minister of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitisation and Energy
